Bringing it all together.
In a world full of organizers, I’m an anomaly. My scattered life is all over the place, with multiple jobs, a son on the spectrum, an obsession with volunteering, a physical need for movement, and about 25 different “interests” I must learn more about. 😉 Yet somehow, it all comes together.
I’m a busy single mom. My non-typical son has shaped my life. He brought chaos to my calm and humility to my soul while teaching me unconditional love. I left my corporate job in hospitality for a career in education after my son was diagnosed and always had a side hustle – teaching yoga, freelance writing, tutoring. After ten years teaching I’m back to hospitality, and I continue to write. I’m deeply involved with a few nonprofits and autism organizations, and I’m a passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity.
Many responsibilities and even more interests make for one scattered life. For those of you who feel like you are always behind, slightly skewed, and a little messy, you are not alone! I’ll be here to remind you – you can get through it, even if you do come out wrinkled on the other side. (you probably would have anyway, since, if you’re like me, you’re not really sure how to iron anything) Even when it seems insurmountable, and you can’t see over the piles of laundry, keep going friends. The living is in the doing, and perfection is never required.
